
On May 20, 2025, Practical Thematic Seminar of Van Hien University's K25 Literature students hosted an impressive experiential seminar “The Script Unfurled, The Stage Ablaze”. The event fostered a vibrant academic environment, bridging literary theory with professional practice. It drew a large audience of lecturers and students and was honored by the special presence of Hữu Châu, who holds the prestigious title of Merited Artist (NSƯT) of Vietnam.
This seminar was the culmination of the K25 Literature students' dedicated learning and skill development, clearly demonstrating the university's commitment to practical, experience driven.
The program opened creatively with a podcast that immersed the audience in the world of scriptwriting, followed by a humorous excerpt from “The Pigsty and Duck Feathers”. This play, inspired by Lưu Quang Vũ's famous “Bệnh sĩ” (Vanity), was performed by K25 students, showcasing their ability to interpret and stage literary works.
The seminar then transitioned to its core, a compelling presentation titled “The Script Unfurled, the Stage Ablaze”. Talented VHU students Lê Thị Thu Mai and Phạm Đình Trường An meticulously elucidated the process of transforming literary scripts into captivating stage productions. Their insightful work not only explored the inherent challenges and burgeoning opportunities but also unequivocally asserted literature's foundational and indispensable role in the performing arts, thereby laying a robust academic groundwork for all specialized students.
Without question, the most eagerly awaited part of the program was the talk show with the Merited Artist NSƯT Hữu Châu. A true master of his craft, NSƯT Hữu Châu generously shared invaluable insights, born from his extensive experience, profound knowledge, and unwavering passion. The esteemed artist particularly lauded the increasing focus universities are placing on theater, seamlessly weaving it into practical curricula to equip students with deeper understanding and vital hands-on training.
Serving as an effective and innovative learning model, the seminar clearly demonstrated an educational approach closely connected to real-world industry practice. Students gained immense value from the seamless integration of theoretical reports, staged performances, and direct talk shows with leading industry experts. This hands-on engagement, spanning from idea generation and scriptwriting to acting and directing, significantly enhanced their professional knowledge and practical skills.
Through direct dialogue with the special guests, students gained an up-close perspective on the profession. This interaction clarified real-world demands and industry trends, empowering them to precisely define their academic and career trajectories in cultural and artistic fields, be it as writers, screenwriters, actors, or directors.
